The Spitfire was continually developed. Photo-recon versions had the most powerful engines, were stripped of all armaments, painted special PRU blue and could fly higher and faster than virtually any other aircraft. The 1944 Mark XIX was so advanced it continued in front-line service for a decade.

Photo-recon pilots had to be highly skilled and disciplined to fly straight and level in a grid pattern for hours on end, capturing pin-sharp images. They also had to avoid making their presence known to enemy fighters since they had no means of defending themselves.

We are a family business that works closely with the artists to ensure that our customers receive wonderful pictures at affordable prices.

Original paintings and framed prints are usually only available for collection from the Gallery, although we can deliver in person within a 15 mile radius of the gallery by arrangement.

On this site we have tried to provide as much choice as possible, but we are happy to quote on and supply pictures in bespoke sizes where feasible.
